Where Are Lintels Used?
Lintels are a load-bearing structural element that spans the opening between two vertical supports. They are most commonly used to support the wall above doors and windows and come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. For instance, they range from small doors size to large grand openings like wide balcony doors. We ‘NEsteel Lintels Pvt Ltd’ can design lintels to meet the load-bearing requirements of any project, including some decorative bespoke designs.
Why Is The Choice Of Lintel Important?

Choosing the right lintel is important because it can improve the durability and stability of the whole building.

What protective coatings should I choose?
Some lintels are manufactured using pre-galvanized material. That means the cut edges and welds have to be painted after the lintel has been fabricated, which, as you will probably know, isn’t as robust as galvanizing, so these areas are always going to be vulnerable to corrosion.

Our lintels are the only product range to be fully hot-dip galvanized after fabrication. This results in up to 50% more zinc protection than other approved coatings. Hot Dip Galvanising offers superior corrosion protection and extended product lifespan compared with pre-galvanized lintels. Why are NEsteel Lintels™ products hot-dip galvanised?
Hot-dip galvanising (HDG) is the most economical form of providing corrosion protection for steel, to prevent rust. Brickwork cracking caused by rust displacement is virtually eliminated by the corrosion protection of HDG. HDG also offers excellent impact and scratch resistance to cope with the rigours of transport, loading/unloading and handling by workers on a building site.
Can I weld, cut or modify to a GI Steel Lintel?
We don’t recommend that you perform welding on NEsteel Lintels™ products as welding destroys the protective zinc coating. If you weld or cut or modify the steel lintel, it can damage the protective coating of Galvanising and it may get corrode at that location. This will result in shortening the life of steel lintel and the structure will be in danger if this happens. If welding is required, consult your design engineer.
Are Steel Lintels product of NEsteel Lintels™ suitable for buildings near the coast or in severe environments?
The Galvanised Steel Lintels products of NEsteel Lintels™ are suitable for use in coastal areas like mumbai. The NEsteel Lintels™ products are purely hot dip galvanized with the coating thickness of 60-66micron (400-450GSM). This coating protects the lintel steel material from rusting.
